"History: Maybe that's the main problem with you hardcore libertarians. You seem to be stuck in the past and can't adapt to the current government, with all of its problems and need of reform. You people criticize anyone who doesn't agree with or abide by the "original branch" and definition of conservatism. Instead of working together to reform the GOP, you people decided to just cause problems within and even made your own (unsuccessful) party."

The problems are caused by the lack of freedom in America.

The Austrian economists (aka Libertarian economists) have predicted the economic collapse, bankruptcy of Freddie and Fannie etc for years! Peter Schiff and the other Austrians went on Fox, CNN, etc and said we are headed for a recession and then depression when the fake economy appeared to be doing well and they were blasted.

Our current problems are caused by inflation. We have rapidly printed out money (worthless paper money) and it is robbing the people of their wealth.

The Federal Reserve act, which is unconstitutional (so is paper money), was written by powerful bankers, not politicians.

The Fed artificially lowers interest rates to stimulate the economy , you know the very economy they stifled by robbing it of its wealth by inflation the currency. The artificial interest rates cause mal investment. Not only that, but the Federal Reserve is not federal. It is a private organization made up by European central bankers.

Our housing crisis was also caused by the government. The inflation, plus the stupid bills that made companies give houses to people they would normally reject caused this housing crisis mess.

America is not free market at all, we have a socialist economy and both the GOP and Democrats support it.

We are actually 100 trillion dollars in debt including medicade, social security etc yet all the Republicans and Democrats want to do is spend and spend and inflate. That will only make things worse. We used to be a economy based on saving money, now we are based on a economy of spending money we do not have.

"The central bank is an institution of the most deadly hostility existing against the Principles and form of our Constitution. I am an Enemy to all banks discounting bills or notes for anything but Coin. If the American People allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the People of all their Property until their Children will wake up homeless on the continent their Fathers conquered. "

Thomas Jefferson

I will tell you who the extreme ones are-

The "conservatives" like McCain, Bush etc who want to:

nationalize our bank system for 5 trillion dollars.
want to spend trillions over seas in unconstitutional wars while we are 100 trillion dollars in debt
who support a unconstitutional central bank, which is a populist idea
who support unconstitutional fiat currency, which is a populist idea
who voted AGAINST bills that require the government to balance the budget each year
who personally voted for unbalanced budgets by trillions of dollars
I could go on and on.

Since when does a conservative vote to spend trillions of dollars more than we have???
